Researchers collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines on many occasions: research projects, teaching assignments, academic boards and committees, etc. Frequently, different disciplinary perspectives and cultures cause misunderstandings and challenging situations. In this online workshop, you will practice strategies and methods allowing researchers and scientists from different backgrounds to communicate and work with one another effectively and efficiently.

The workshop will address the following topics in particular:
• Contexts, forms and functions of interdisciplinary cooperation
• Communication across disciplinary boundaries: approaches, opportunities, limitations
• Practical challenges of working in interdisciplinary contexts or teams: project management
• Methodologies, research practices and cultures in different disciplines
• Reflection on your own discipline

• Interdisciplinarity and career development
