The talk on "Living (in)between spaces: exploring the geographies of young people from cross-cultural families in India“ by Dr. Maria Anne Fitzgerald from the Ashoka University nearby New Delhi attracted a numerous, interested, and very engaged academic crowd from the Institute of Geography, the Center for Climate Resilience, and the Environmental Humanities Master Program. It centered on the 'in-between spaces‘ concept and everyday experiences of identity by Homi Bhaba, exploring everyday praxis, emotions, belongingness, liminality and place-making among cross-cultural youth. Dr. Fitzgerald uses feminist methodologies, including creative visual methods, auto-ethnography, and interventions in academic spaces. An interesting platform, also for geography students, is her collaborative blog 'makingspace‘.
