FLUID-KI
Project overview
Cardiac and renal insufficiency are often associated with severe disease progression (cardiac decompensation), including hospitalization. Dealing with these diseases is an enormous challenge for society today and in the future. In order to reduce the number of severe courses in particular, FLUID-KI is developing solutions that can be used independently by patients to record physiological variables/conditions, monitor treatment and optimize patient care.
In detail, FLUID-KI developes novel AI-based algorithms to bring readily available sensor technology up to the level of medical measurements. FLUID-KI thereby focuses on the integration of smart watch-based bioimpedance to assess various variables, e.g. water retention and cardiac output, and fuse impedance with other sensor data. The project is carried out together with University Hospital Augsburg and industrial partners.
Within FLUID-KI, DSENS carries out complex experimental recordings laying the foundation to optimize the hardware setup and providing data for training and evaluation the algorithms to be developed.
