It is not always easy for consumers to choose the right skin care products. An interesting and flexible solution for them would therefore be to take photos of themselves with their cell phone and let an AI do the rest.

GRAND-AID aims to use images of the face to assess the skin using a neural network. For possible conditions, such as blemishes, the Clinic for Dermatology and Allergology at Augsburg University Hospital under Frau Prof. Dr. med. Julia Welzel is working with the Augsburg-based cosmetics manufacturer DR. GRANDEL - The Beautyness Company to develop recommendations for individual care. At the end of the project, pictures of their own face will be taken on a website DR. GRANDEL - The Beautyness Company website to take pictures of their own face. A neural network will be used to classify the condition of the skin based on the images taken. This classification is used to provide the customer with an individual selection of skin care products from DR. GRANDEL - The Beautyness Company.
