Bio
Tobias Lutzi is Junior Professor for Private Law (Tenure Track) and postdoctoral researcher (Habilitand) at the Institute For Private International and Comparative Law at the University of Cologne. He is chair of the Young Research Network and member of the Scientific Council of the European Association of Private International Law (EAPIL), General Editor of the blog conflictoflaws.net, member of the Young Academy of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and of the Advisory Boards of the journals Juristischen Schulung (JuS) and Zeitschrift für das Recht der digitalen Wirtschaft (ZDiW). Since February 2024, he is co-host of the Law Faculty's discussion series, Augsburger Rechtsgespräche.
His research is focused on private international law, including international civil procedure and the CISG, and on German and comparative private law, with a focus of the challenges raised by digital technology.
