Vita

I was born and raised in Landshut. After completing my high school diploma and spending some time abroad in New Zealand, I pursued a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences at TUM in Weihenstephan. During an internship and my Master's thesis, I first came in contact with the fascinating and, at that time, still relatively unexplored world of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Following this fascination, I investigated EVs from adipocytes in my PhD thesis at Helmholtz Munich. After several years in this challenging research field, I embarked on a new adventure: planning, opening, and managing a new farm shop with a café at my parents' agricultural business. However, science never completely let go of me and led me to the medical faculty of the University of Augsburg, where I am now involved in biochemistry teaching, lab organization, and still in EV research. My free time is dedicated to music in its many facets – whether classical singing, Bavarian brass music, rock covers with the 'Sugar Doctors,' or medieval music at the festival ‘Landshuter Hochzeit’.
