The didactics of English deals with all aspects of teaching and learning the English language as well as English-speaking cultures and literatures in research and teaching. The requirements of students of all teaching careers are at the heart of the courses on offer. In the subject didactics course, prospective teachers learn about the theoretical and empirical foundations of English teaching. They also gain an initial insight into the design of target-oriented language learning situations and develop their ability to analyze teaching experiences in scientific categories.
