Career

Dr Andreas Kullick has been a senior lecturer at the University of Augsburg since February 2024. He studied at the University of Education in Karlsruhe to become a primary and secondary school teacher, specialising in English, history, social studies, and media education. After completing his second state examination, he worked for many years as a teacher and teacher trainer in Baden-Württemberg. He holds a Master's degree in Sociology of Sport from the University of Leicester and a PhD in English from the University of Education in Schwäbisch Gmünd as part of the research programme „Heterogenität gestalten – starke Grundschulen entwickeln“ (‘Shaping heterogeneity - developing strong primary schools’).

Research

His research focusses in particular on the following areas:

  • Heterogeneity in the EFL classroom
  • Technology-enhanced language learning and teaching
  • Task-supported language learning and teaching (TSLLT)
  • Oral communicative competence in EFL learning 

He has also recently worked on the impact of Virtual Exchanges (VEs) in teacher training as part of the European Erasmus+ project VALIANT (Virtual Innovation and Support Networks for Teachers).
