With a correspondingly qualified degree, a subsequent doctorate (Dr. phil.) is possible in all subjects of the Faculty of Philology and History. The doctoral programme is accompanied by subject-specific and interdisciplinary colloquia, Oberseminars, intensive personal supervision, integration into elite study programmes and competence centres. It takes place within the larger framework of the Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences (Graduiertenschule für Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften), which combines the doctoral programmes of the three humanities faculties of the University of Augsburg (Faculty of Philology and History, Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Faculty of Catholic Theology).
