Curriculum vitae

Christina Wagner has been a research assistant at the Chair of Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems and Management at the Institute of Business Administration of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the University of Augsburg since 2019.

As part of her research, she deals with data protection and privacy in the digital space. Her focus here is individual consumer behavior and the psychological components that influence such behavior (attribution, perception of transparency). Specifically, the focus is on consumer reactions to sharing their data with third parties. On the one hand, she examines general perceptions of such practices by consumers. On the other hand, she explores data protection violations caused by data sharing with third parties by digital companies. Theoretically interesting is the need to take into account the multiparty nature of this phenomenon. Methodologically, she uses experimental methods, qualitative methods and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA).

In addition to various methodological and subject-related training courses and presenting her research work at international conferences, Christina Wagner completed a research stay at the Copenhagen Business School in 2022, funded by the University of Augsburg's scholarship for “Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching”. She presented her dissertation project at the Doctoral Consortium of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS).

Christina Wagner completed her Master's degree in Business Administration at the University of Augsburg. She wrote her master's thesis at the chair of Prof. Dr. Veit on “The Interaction between Habits and Privacy Considerations”, in which she investigated the influence of habits on privacy decisions in the mobile app sector.

During her studies, she also gained practical experience in project management at OMV AG, in corporate sales at the BMW Group for Central and Southeastern Europe, and as a working student at Human eSource GmbH in Augsburg, a service provider in the field of internal optimization and outsourcing.
