At the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Augsburg, a full-time position is available in the Department of Statistics (Prof. Dr. Yarema Okhrin) for 01.03.2023 for
a scientific associate (m/f/d)
with the possibility of a doctorate in an employment contract initially limited to 1.5 to 2 years. There will be an opportunity for extension at a later date. It is possible to occupy the position on a part-time basis.
The scope of duties includes participation in and design of international and national research projects, active participation in teaching and practical projects as well as the performance of other tasks within the scope of the chair's operation. The possibilities for a goal-oriented completion of a doctorate are given. Our main topics in research and teaching are financial market econometrics, data analysis and machine learning methods.
Recruitment requirements:
- A university degree with above-average grades in a relevant subject (e.g., statistics, mathematics, data science, business mathematics, financial mathematics, computer science).
- Very good knowledge of multivariate statistics, econometrics
- Experience with machine learning methods
- Very good knowledge of the English and German language.
The required qualifications must already be proven in the application documents by appropriate certificates. Remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L if the personal and collective agreement requirements are met.
