The environmental economics group at INRAe Paris-Saclay invited Florian Diekert to present his research on “Subsidizing Compliance in Open Access Fisheries” in their seminar on Tuesday March 25, 2025.

From March 10 to 14, 2025, the first World Climate Game took place as an interdisciplinary seminar at the Centre for Climate Resilience. This innovative teaching concept combines theoretical knowledge from various disciplines with experiential learning through active participation in the simulation, in which participants face a realistic climate crisis on a fictional planet.

In November 2024, Felix Kotulla joined Prof. Dr. Florian Diekert’s team as a doctoral student and research associate. He is part of the Green Research Network “Building Climate Resilience for a Vital Environment (BRaVE): Identification of Vulnerabilities, Indicators and Implications for Actions” at the Centre for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg.

On February 20–21, 2025, Anna Maier attended the AURÖ Workshop for Young Researchers in Environmental and Resource Economics at ZEW Mannheim. The workshop provided a platform for early-career researchers to present their work and engage in discussions on current topics in environmental and resource economics.

Researchers at the Environmental Economics working group have designed an economic decision-making experiment that mimics situations of natural resource use dilemmas. As of October 2024, the team around Professor Florian Diekert launched the experiment at the Laboratory for Economic Experiments on Human Behavior (LEcH) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Building J, Ground Floor, Room 1113).

A recent study by Dr. Patrick Hoffmann and Dr. Sergio Villamayor-Tomas, published in Water Economics and Policy, explores how modernizing irrigation infrastructure influences farmers' perceived ownership of water savings.

Prof. Dr. Florian Diekert and Dr. Tillmann Eymess published the results from their lab-in-the-field experiment with fishing crews at Lake Victoria, Tanzania, in the journal Games and Economic Behavior. In their study, Diekert and Eymess asked whether teams (fishing crews) could be nudged to increase cooperation in a social-dilemma experiment.
