Institute of European Cultural History
The Institute for European Cultural History, founded in 1990, is a central academic institution of the University of Augsburg. Its mission is to promote and conduct interdisciplinary research into European cultural history. On the one hand, the focus is on the rich historical sources in the libraries and archives in Augsburg and Swabia, but on the other hand, the Institute is also firmly committed to a European perspective. It is therefore always about the relationship between the local and the global, about embedding regional developments in larger European or even global contexts.

Herzog Albrecht V. von Bayern
Neu in der Reihe Colloquia Augustana
Der von Regina Dauser, Dorothea Diemer, Peter Diemer, Marius Mutz und Lothar Schilling herausgebene Band widmet sich Herzog Albrecht V. von Bayern (reg. 1550-1579) und geht auf eine 2021 am IEK durchgeführte Tagung zurück.
Philipp-Hainhofer-Kolloquien
Neue Kooperation des IEK mit Prof. Dr. Dr. Andreas Tacke
Der Augsburger Philipp Hainhofer war eine bedeutende Vermittler-Persönlichkeit für Kunst sowie politische und kulturelle Information. Seit 2017 betreut Andreas Tacke (Trier) ein großangelegtes Editionsprojekt. Begleitend dazu finden jährlich die Philipp-Hainhofer-Kolloquien statt.
