Topic of my doctoral thesis/project title
Raw material requirements for a climate-resilient future
About me
Before I started as a PhD student at the Center for Climate Resilience, I studied Geography at the University of Augsburg with a focus on Natural Resources and Resource Management. From 2020 to 2022 I worked as a student assistant in the working group Resource Lab at the Chair of Production & Supply Chain Management. From 2021 to 2023 I also gained deeper insights into human geography as a student assistant at the Chair for Human Geography and Transformation Research. Since October 2023, I am a research associate at the Chair of Production & Supply Chain Management.
My Motivation - Why climate resilience?
As our society is facing a multiple crisis, it is important to consider not only the impact of climate change on the environment, but also the socio-economic systems that depend on an intact environment. I believe that our society needs to follow two paths: mitigation and adaptation. At the same time, we have to learn what resilience means - in relation to different subsystems, but also across systems. An interdisciplinary approach, such as that of the Centre for Climate Resilience, seems to be the most promising way to achieve these goals, taking into account multiple factors and impacts.
