The Welcome Service and the Graduate Center jointly hosted a networking event for PhD students to get to know each other and a site of Bavaria’s rich brewing culture: the Riegele Brewery. 31 doctoral researchers from 6 faculties and 14 countries got together for a distinct Augsburg experience in an international, informal setting.

Riegele is one of the oldest privately-owned breweries in Bavaria, with a history dating back to 1386. The brewery tour offered insights into the traditional art of brewing, followed by a traditional Bavarian “Brotzeit” to taste local specialties.
