The Organisation f.au.st e.V.
What is f.au.st?
The "Verein zur Förderung ausländischer Studierender in Augsburg e.V.", short: faust e.V. - is an initiative of the Augsburg Student Union, members of the University and the Technical Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and Augsburg citizens. This initiative became active in June 1999 and was the first of its kind in a Bavarian university city.
Why was f.au.st founded?
The International Offices of the University and the Technical University of Applied Sciences and the Counseling Service of the Augsburg Student Union are repeatedly confronted with situations in which foreign students - especially those from poorer countries of origin - find themselves in material need for various reasons, often beyond their own control. This is where faust e.V. can help.
The work of faust e.V. led to the initiation of the project "Welcome to Augsburg's Universities", which in 2003 was awarded the prize of the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany for excellent support of foreign students at German universities.
Who supports f.au.st?
Individuals as well as companies and institutions, who are concerned about the support of foreign students and who would like to get involved with Augsburg as a university location and its internationality are welcome to support faust e.V.. Membership applications and donation forms can be downloaded on this website.
What are the goals of f.au.st?
faust e.V. offers financial support to foreign students of the University of Augsburg and the Technical Augsburg University of Applied Sciences Augsburg who are in a financial emergency and in need.
faust e.V. promotes the integration of foreign students at the university and college and supports intercultural communication between foreign and German students.
What does f.au.st want?
Foreign students in need receive help quickly and unbureaucratically. As of 2014, 162 students have been supported.
How can f.au.st be supported?
The funds for the realization of the tasks are obtained from membership fees and collected donations. The annual membership fees are based on the valid membership fee regulations, which you can find in the download area of the homepage. In order to be able to work effectively, faust e.V. is therefore dependent on numerous supporting members on the one hand, and on the willingness of the citizens of Augsburg to make donations on the other. Donations can be transferred at any time to the association's account no. 18192 (IBAN: DE29 7205 0000 0181 92) at the Stadtsparkasse Augsburg, BLZ 720 500 00 (BIC: AUGSDE77XXX).
