Under the motto “From Campus Life to City Streets: Augsburg through your Lens”, the International Office is organizing a photo contest for international students studying at the University of Augsburg in the winter semester 2024/25. The theme of the contest is your personal perspective on Augsburg, beyond the usual tourist pictures. What does your everyday life in Augsburg look like? Which side of Augsburg or the campus do you personally find the most beautiful? Ideally, your photo should show that it was taken in Augsburg or on the university campus. People, food, everyday life, architecture - everything is allowed, so let your creativity run free!
 

The deadline for entries is January 15, 2025.
 

The best photos will be exhibited on the campus of the University of Augsburg in the summer semester 2025 and you also have the chance to win one of the following prizes:


1st prize: Augsburg City voucher worth 100 euros


2nd prize: Augsburg City voucher worth 75 euros


The Augsburg City voucher can be used in numerous stores in Augsburg.

How it works

  1. Name your photo according to the format “last_name_first_name__photo_title.jpg”
  2. Upload the photo to the Megastore of the University of Augsburg (as jpg/jpeg, 1-5 MB, 300 dpi).
  3. Send the Megastore link with the subject “Augsburg photo contest” to weltweit.incoming@aaa.uni-augsburg.de by January 15, 2025

Terms and conditions of participation

By participating in the photo competition, you expressly agree to the conditions of participation:
 

(1) Each participant may only submit one photo.
 

(2) Participation in the competition is free of charge.
 

(3) Image size at least 1 MB (100-300 dpi).
 

(4) Format: jpg or jpeg.
 

(5) Only one image per file: no collages; no frames, graphic elements or obvious image manipulation; no text elements in the image.
 

(6) All entrants acknowledge that any image submitted for the competition may be used by the International Office for marketing and promotional purposes, including but not limited to:

    (a) Display on the University of Augsburg campus.

    (b) Publication on the website, flyers, Instagram or other platforms.
 

(7) Participants must be in possession of unrestricted copyrights and rights of use; the motifs must not violate the legal provisions of the country of origin, the legal provisions of the European Union or the personal rights of persons depicted.
 

(8) The closing date for entries is January 15, 2025, 3:00 p.m.
 

(9) The entries will be judged between January 15 and 22, 2025. The winners will then be announced.
 

(10) The jury's decision is binding for all participants and cannot be contested.
 

(11) Each entry must not contain any personally identifiable information about you or any other person.
 

(12) Each contribution shall not contain any offensive, threatening, false, misleading, insulting, harassing, libellous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content.

(13) The participant assures that each person depicted in the entry has given their consent to be depicted in the form shown and agrees to the publication of the photo.

(14) Cash payouts of the prizes are not possible.
