Welcome to the University of Augsburg. The lecture period for the winter semester 2023/2024 begins on the 16th of October 2023. A variety of introductory events take place before the start of the lecture period. Here you can find information about starting your studies and discover what the Augsburg university campus and the City of Augsburg have to offer.
Introductory events for first-semester students
Introductory events for first-semester students provide answers to many questions about starting your studies. Shortly before the start of the lecture period, they will help you get off to a good start. There are subject-specific and general introductory events.
Brochure about the first semester
All first-year students receive the brochure “Auf geht’s! Starthilfe für das erste Semester” when they enrol. You will receive a German language digital PDF copy of the brochure.

With a collection of around 2.8 million printed publications, 550,000 audiovisual and electronic media, and 37,400 e-journal licences, our university library provides students with expert knowledge for all disciplines.

With your computer user ID, you can use all digital services at the University of Augsburg, including:
- Your student email address
- Digicampus (course registration)
- VIBS (change address, certificate of enrolment)
- Wi-Fi
- STUDIS (exam registration)
- Logging in to computer workstations
You will receive your computer user ID and password when you enrol.
The university communicates with you via your student email address, which ends with “@uni-a.de”.
Log in to webmail with your computer user ID
Digicampus is an interactive organisational portal for your studies. You register for all your courses, seminars, lectures, language courses, and first-semester introductory events through Digicampus. You will receive relevant information about your courses via Digicampus, which also functions as a discussion platform between lecturers and students.
It is important that you register with Digicampus before the start of your studies and then for your courses and first-semester introductory events. You can find further information about this on your degree programme website.
