University Professor (m/f/d) of Piano, Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences

The Leopold Mozart College of Music at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the University of Augsburg is seeking to make the following appointment at the next possible starting date.
 

Professor of Piano
Salary grade W2

 

The appointment is as a tenured public servant.

We are seeking an outstanding and internationally renowned artistic personality who will represent the subject in accordance with the university’s concept, which integrates artistic, pedagogical, and academic practices in music education. In addition to the artistic education of students in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, responsibilities include coordination of the piano department for primary and secondary instrument studies.

The successful candidate will possess several years of experience in international concert performance as well as pedagogical experience in the university sector. In addition, particular expertise in and commitment to contemporary music and chamber music is desirable.

Regular attendance and a willingness to participate in the committees for academic self-administration is required. The teaching load is 19 contact hours, and the language of instruction is German.

Prerequisites for employment are a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude, and a special aptitude for artistic work, as well as additional artistic achievements. Alternatively, if there is a special public interest, candidates who can demonstrate outstanding achievements in the field as well as pedagogical suitability may also be appointed.

Only persons under 52 years of age can be employed as a public servant. Otherwise, employment under a private law contract is possible.
