Study content:

In this degree programme, students deepen their subject knowledge and improve their practical language skills. Through opportunities for interdisciplinary research and numerous project assignments, they receive comprehensive preparation for a wide variety of fields of work. Students can create their personal profile by choosing a major area of study between linguistics and literary studies, as well as that of a minor area from Anglophone Cultural Studies, Didactics of English and - depending on the choice of major area - linguistics or literary studies.

Special features

Prospective students who have successfully completed the Master's degree programme Anglistik/Amerikanistik Studies at the University of Augsburg or who have conclusively failed this programme can no longer take up the Master's degree programme in English and American Studies.

  • English language skills on level C1/C2 CFR (international students must submit a standardized certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL; a first degree from an English-speaking country may be accepted instead of such a certificate);
  • Under certain circumstances one of these documents can be submitted after the deadline.
  • Transcript of records
