Recent and ongoing research in the fields of Educational Psychology and Empirical Educational Research will be presented and discussed in the research colloquium. In addition to scientists from the University of Augsburg, researchers from other research institutions will also report on their work.

The number of youth reporting mental health concerns have increased substantially over the last five years. Schools across the world are experiencing challenges in meeting rising student needs with few resources. However, educators face limited time and money and often make decisions that are inefficient and ineffective. This presentation will discuss how research evidence is used within educational decision-making, with a specific focus on making research evidence relevant to the local context. A new method for integrating research evidence will be described. The discrete event simulation software will be presented along with preliminary data to depict how evidence can be considered relative to available resources and user values when making decisions. Future directions in improving decision-making will be highlighted as informative to improved school mental health services.
